Talk about your fluffy things!

I have a male neutered cat (about six), who tends to be pretty high energy, sociable, playful, and a little wild (will hunt, occasionally plays too rough or gets moody and bites). I also have a lazy overweight female neutered cat (about eight) who haaaates him, because he always will try to annoy her and she hates moving. He likes to randomly tackle her and bite her in the back of the neck, and she gets mad and hisses, spits, swats, whatever.

We thought the male cat just played aggressively, or maybe even had some weird dominance thing - though he's never once hissed at her, he does have that slightly wild streak.

Found out that he's actually "mounting" her. Sexually, minus the whole dick part. I did not know neutered cats did that. Explains why female cat gets so pissed at him, but I'm at a loss about how to stop him from doing it.

One of my sister's cats did that to another of her cats. I don't know how my sister solved it. The female (who was several years older) has since died of old age, and the male now humps stuffed animals.

Huh. My older male cat does that to my younger male cat, and they're both neutered. The older cat does this weird thing with his hind legs at the same time, like he's trying to step on the younger (and bigger cat).

It hasn't happened in a while (maybe because the younger one is literally twice the size of the older one), but it always weirded me out, so whenever I saw it happen, I would clap my hands loudly to scare the older cat away.

Well, you can't actually stop him from wanting to do it. You can scruff him when he tries it and tell him no or physically separate them, which might curb some of the behaviour if he's the kind of cat who responds to that.

The alternative is, of course, spraying him with water. That's pretty much instantly effective. Catch is, you have to be waiting with a water bottle for that to happen.

There was a (small, young) neighbours cat that used to do that to my (large, fat) neutered tom.

It was the damnedest thing - my cat would be all 'I'm not sure where you're going with this, little buddy' and the other would be all 'I seem to be missing a step, when do the fireworks and balloons turn up?' and then I'd pry him off and they'd go back to chasing each other around the yard.

I have no advice on how to stop it, however.

Water pistol worked a charm (on my bunnies).

Teach him about consent. Damn rape culture.
seriously, why do you think you have to stop him even though you didn't before? It's normal cat behavior ffs.

Ooh, your cow cat has emo bangs (aka a spot over one eye) like mine does!

Wait, have we had this conversation before?

I'm just now realizing that it's a goddamn miracle this has never happened to me given how much my shitlord animal likes to sleep on my butt.

Mine will headbutt me in the face and chew my hair until I'm annoyed into getting out of bed to feed him.

Mine liked to wake me up with his butt. He'd literally stick his butt in my face, until I woke up.

We had a thunderstorm today and there was a crack of thunder that sounded like the house next door had exploded. My poor dog hasn't stopped shaking and that was hours ago. He's cuddled up to me right now and he won't go to sleep and he cries if I break contact with him. My SO has to hold him like a baby and stand in the doorway when I go to the toilet or else he starts howling.

...Might be time to ask for a bit of a sedative from the vet. That kind of extreme anxiety (in humans as well as pets!) often really does need to be medicated or it can spark a sort of positive feedback loop that may lead to a disorder down the road.

My mom and dad have a ludicrously fat, spoiled cavapoo, or half king charles cavalier, half poodle (IIRC). She likes to fart onto my face and pretend not to care what I think of her. I love her very much.

I miss my stupid shitlord cat. I hear tales of his antics every day, but it's hard being away from my furry heating blanket. I take a warm bean bag to bed with me every night just to be able to fall asleep.

My dog met a tarantula the other day. She was fascinated by the little fellow, getting right up in his face until he struck at her with his legs, then leaping back, then getting up in his face again. This continued until my father saw the tarantula and immediately squashed him. (My mother was horrified.)

Sorry to bring this thread down but its just past the year anniversary of my cat's death and I feel weird talking about it anywhere unanon. I feel sort of silly feeling this bad still, but she was my cat for 18 years, we basically grew up together. I still miss her so much.

Also I kind of want another cat (and I kinda want an old cat cause I was so used to one, my girlfriend has a young cat and she is so different) but I also don't feel like I'm ready yet and I don't want to feel like I'm trying to replace her... idk.

Today my dog did a stand for exam with 2 strangers! Woo! It means she has to stand there and not move while a stranger lightly touches her head. The third one she barked at (new trainer) so we let her break her stand and inspect the person/get a pat that way. Pushed her too much with that one. The 4th one she didn't bark at but did keep trying to move away.

She also got a new toy cause she won this week's competition (dog that closes most doors).

My bunnies are cute and fluffy as per usual.

I'm getting hermit crabs! I've been slowly setting up a tank! All it really needs now is for me to get paid so I can buy plants and hermit crabs. Oh, and actually set the tank up.
