Since you're throwing out the bait here: I'm a feminist, I am critical of radical Islam's treatment of women, and I am also supportive of Muslims in the U.S. and abroad. These are not stances that are at cross-purposes. Literally no one thinks that women are treated well or fairly in countries with Sharia law, especially other Muslim women.

Talk to one sometime. You might find yourself surprised.

Are Muslim women treated well in Western countries?

Not particularly. Certainly much better than radicalized Islamic countries, but anyone with eyes would be hard-pressed to say that there isn't a steady undercurrent of hate aimed towards them and their families for no other reason than their religion.

Sorry, I should have been more specific.

Are Muslim women treated well by Muslim men in Western countries?

I'll be honest, that's a really loaded question. Unpacking it as best I can: yes, they are on the whole treated better here than they would be in many countries in the Middle East. Yes, there are plenty of Muslim men in Western countries that continue to treat women terribly, and yes, it is many times in the name of their religion.

However, the exact same thing can be said about many of our Amish, Mennonite, or other Christian communities. Many of our Jewish communities. The list goes on. Religion is used by terrible people to oppress and control others, many of whom are women: this is not a Muslim-centric problem. So I bristle when people single them out.

True, I'd like to amend my original "Islam" to "all religion."

I bring up Islam in particular because, bizarrely, it seems like it's the one that gets a free pass from progressives, and I can't understand why.

And this, unfortunately, is where our conversation is going to fall apart. All we have in anecdotal evidence.

You seem to be inundated by alt-progs that give free passes to Islam regardless of legitimate criticism; I have had exactly the opposite experience, in feminist groups and general liberal ones alike, where criticisms are brought up and discussed at length (including members of the affected group), while all agreeing that Muslims in Western countries should not be rejected out of hand and hated.

I'm glad to hear these discussions are occurring in real life and are productive and sensitive to Mulims in Western countries. I suppose I'm admittedly jaded on the topic due to the alt-prog sentiments I've seen on FS and ONTD and various news media comment sections. To be fair, there's too much genuine alt-right racism out there, too, so I can understand the kneejerk reaction from alt-progs. But it does alienate well-meaning liberals who can't understand why legitimate criticism is seemingly not allowed. Probably best to avoid internet discussions of it altogether.

There's a popular sentiment that I think everyone should adopt: never, ever listen to anyone on the internet. I absolutely understand where you're coming from-- there are no shades of grey when you're not face-to-face, and it's easy for people to get into echo chambers that just confirm and validate their own black-and-white views. I'd get jaded too.

I do genuinely encourage you to seek out active, real conversations on the subject in real life, though. You might be heartened to realize how little of the internet really does spill out.
