Is he? I didn't know that. I've never read anything that suggested it, but then it's been years since I read anything by the author excepting the comic. The strip gets old sometimes, but yeah, I really do like Alice, too.

In addition to the MRA stuff, he considers himself a master of hypnosis and persuasion, which informs his political commentary

I still love the comic and cartoon, but yeaaaah. He's nutters.

That's got nothing to do with men's rights. That's just misogyny. Men's rights is stuff like custody battles and being taken seriously when reporting abuse.

The way that he talks about persuasion and hypnosis, and the way that seems to shape his way of talking and presenting ideas generally.

I think it's funny because everything he says comes off like he thinks he's the smartest person in the room and has some master plan to outwit everyone with some extreme linguistic judo. It feels like you can see him doing it and everything he says comes across like an attempt at doing it.

Oh, right enough, he was arrogant as hell like that in the Rubin interview. He also broke down some of the election campaign rhetoric using his research in persuasion, though, and that was pretty interesting. I won't totally discredit the power of the right rhetoric to persuade.
