Re: Pets watching TV

I used to turn on some show (Cats 101 I think it was called?) and my cat would freak out. Like she would stare at it, and then even go up to the TV, stand up on her high legs and put her paws on the screen, just to watch. She's since grown out of it, but it was crazy how it seemed to register with her.

Our cat used to do similar things with animals on TV shows. She'd meow at some of the cats she saw on screen, or sit there and stare at them. And once the show went to commercial or cut away from the cats, after a second she'd walk off looking sorta pouty, like she was annoyed they stopped showing the cats :p.

I also remember one time we were watching a Letterman segment with one of those animal trainer people who bring various animals on. He brought some type of bird on and it was walking across the studio floor.

Our cat actually got up on the arm of the chair closest to the TV and tried to paw at the bird :D.

And there was a commercial for those Temptations cat treats that she was utterly FASCINATED by-the opening music alone was enough to get her attention, before it even showed the kitty or its food! And then she'd sit there and watch the whole thing. I don't know whether she was more interested in the cat or the food, but either way, that ad always got her attention.
