Novelty contact lenses

Has anyone here tried non-prescription lenses, even though you're nearsighted? Experience, thoughts, advice?

I'm thinking of getting a pair for a special event, but I'm scared of potentially wrecking my eyes. Circumstanses prevents me from ordering from abroad, otherwise I would get prescription ones.

I think as long as you don't have sensitive eyes and buy from a well reviewed seller you should be fine? Have you worn contacts before?

I have worn regular prescription ones years ago, but it was more or less a disaster when riding in the car, it was so dry for my eyes.

Yep. I'm farsighted with astigmatism and I use x4.00 reading/magnifying lenses. Avoid anything with plastic frames and go with metal ones (plastic frames break very easily and are cheap even for cheap reading glasses). I've been using them for awhile and haven't noticed any adverse effects.

Oops I didn't see you were looking for contacts rather than glasses, my bad.
