There was a time when I was a kid where the only cat we had was the cat who lived next door. He liked to come over and visit because the house we were in used to be his house before his owner moved (or died, I'm not sure which). There was one time a cat was on the TV and he heard it and just had to go check around and find the cat he'd heard (I think it may have been Jones in Alien), and for a few weeks after he'd always check to see if there was another cat around.
