[Tom Hanks & Aaron Eckhart in Sully]

Ewwww old people

(Anonymous) 2016-09-12 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I know you're trolling, but honestly Tom Hanks is one of those people I couldn't crush on if I tried. There's nothing really wrong with him; I just get a really strong "friend's dorky dad" vibe off him.

I'm not trolling. I feel the same way about Tom Hanks actually. I just meant that I wanted fic where Sully and Jeff do the do for H/C reasons because the movie made me sad and I think they deserve to get laid after what they went through. Like life affirming sex together.

Jesse Owens Race anon from downthread: This anon isn't accusing you of trolling with your secret, they're calling the "eww old people" anon a troll, but admitting they kind of agree with the sentiment because they can't imagine Tom Hanks in sexual situations. Or at least, not without feeling weird about it.

Also, life affirming sex is a great trope. I hope you're able to find a kink meme or something. Maybe suggest the movie for yuletide, though I don't actually know their policy on RPF fandoms, biopic dramatization inspired requests or not.

He *is* a dorky dad. He once found a young woman's college ID on the ground and posted a pic of it on Twitter or Instagram or somewhere, with his finger carefully covering her last name and the message "I found your ID in the park! If you still need it, call my people!" Total dad.

AYRT -- Aww, that's actually adorable! Dorky dads for the win!

sorry but old people get it on like none other judging by how crazy high the rate of STI contraction is in retirement homes

(Anonymous) 2016-09-13 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
I'm oddly not-surprised by this piece of information.

(Anonymous) 2016-09-13 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
Well, some of it is because of their immune systems winding down and long-dormant herpes infections flaring up, but yeah, there are a lot of STIs going around the olds.

Hahahaha

I was listening to a non-spoiler podcast review of this movie - which I haven't even seen a trailer of - and the second I heard Tom Hanks and Aaron Eckhart were in it I wondered if they're be fic. I have no idea why my brain instantly went there, wtf. Maybe it's because I have a lifelong crush on Tom Hanks...

(Anonymous) 2016-09-12 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
But... how can there even be spoilers for a movie like this?

(Anonymous) 2016-09-12 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe in the movie they all die?

(Anonymous) 2016-09-12 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Rocks fall!

(Anonymous) 2016-09-13 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
PLOT TWIST!

(Anonymous) 2016-09-13 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
ayrt

Even if the general story of what happened is well known (although not to a non-American like me, actually) surely you can understand that listening to an in-depth podcast of a movie you haven't seen yet would have spoilers? I usually like to see the movie before listening to it being discussed scene by scene. Hence the non-spoiler podcast.

Regardless of its hotness, I'm not watching it because it's factually wrong. The simulators showed only a 50/50 shot at being able to get back to a runway when the pilots got control of the plane immediately after the birdstrike, with full information on what exactly had happened, where exactly everything was relative to them, and anything else they might want to know. If they didn't land on a runway, they crashed the plane into something and everyone died. Further, any incident where you lose all engines during takeoff and everyone survives without serious long-term injuries is a borderline-miraculous accomplishment and everyone recognized it as such immediately. I know they need to get an hour and a half out of what only took six minutes IRL somehow, but I have enough issues with how they did it that I won't watch the movie.

I can relate.

I wanted Jesse Owens/the coach (Jason Sudeikis' character) fic after seeing Race.

It's a weird feeling/position to be in, OP.¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thank you! I wish I had people to talk to and commiserate with rather than the trolls that appeared further up the thread.

Looking forward to seeing this film! (I'm now even more intrigued by the fact that Sullly needs some comfort, after everything that happened. Although knowing the story, it makes sense).

As for the 'old people' trolls, I suspect they are very young. Even if they are, unless they're say eight, they're very immature.

(Anonymous) 2016-09-13 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
I just can't believe this movie was made.

I can believe a movie was made, just not this one.
