Motion capture can be an overindulgence of movie budget IMO. Gollem was a game changer, but then Avatar was supposed to use it amazingly and then all that immense amount of work put into the choreography and the physicality didn't make the motions look natural because the characters were built so differently from human beings, it seemed like their center of gravity was nonexistent. Facial movements make sense but everything else is like...something the actor might have fun with but now that the novelty's worn off it seems like just anyone can do it.
