I have no idea if there are any porn blogs following me. How do people have time to check out every blog that follows them?

I have no idea. I never check who follows me.

I don't. But you can tell if you hover over the name of the blog that your activity page says just followed you, and it shows a snippet of the blog. I always keep my activity page open because I like to see what tags people have added to my posts when they reblog.

Oh that makes more sense than going to check based on the email notification.

Because most people probably don't have lots of followers so they get e-mail notifications of a new follower they check out their blog to see if they want to follow back. The problem is 90% of the time it's a porn blog.

This. I have ~100 followers and about 75% of the time Tumblr sends me an email when I get a new one. And 90% of the time it's a porn blog.

I just kind of assumed most people get more followers than me. I felt like I had a lot when I had 7 because I never expected anyone to follow me. So I guess my thinking was that if even I can't be bothered to look at each person who follows me then...

I get notifications on my dash and I hover over the icon/name? Doesn't take that much time. Or if it happens that I get a new follower or two whike at work, I get email notifications. I then check my followers list next time I'm on tumblr and hiver over the icon/name. Again doesn't take that much time. I block porn blogs and report them as spam.

All of this, except for the reporting, since I've never seen any results from doing that.

Me either but I assume that even though it is probably somewhat automated, that a live person is involved at some point. So even if it just annoys them, I'm okay with that.
