I honestly do not know why they follow the fandom one, though (I get the porn one).

(Anonymous) 2016-09-15 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Whenever porn blogs follow me, I think it's weird and suspious. Accuse me of "pearl clutching" all you want, I still think it's shady. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

(Anonymous) 2016-09-15 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I block all the porn blogs that follow me.

(Anonymous) 2016-09-15 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
When a porn blog follows me I block them and then move on with my life.

(Anonymous) 2016-09-15 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I mostly just find it super weird? I mean, there is a difference between blogs that post nude art and whatever and blogs with tits or buttholes as icons. Like, why do you follow me? I have a book blog. I can see someone with the first kind of account maybe also run a bookblog or be interested in one, but the second kind? Why.
(And it's not even gay/lesbian porn, which I'd find less weird what with me reblogging a lot of LGTB books etc.)

Why do porn blogs follow random blogs? I mean, I'm not offended, I'm just confused. There is no porn on my Tumblr whatsoever; it's mainly politics, memes, and cute animals.

Am I the only one who never gets porn blogs following them?

I have no idea if there are any porn blogs following me. How do people have time to check out every blog that follows them?

I don't care when porn blogs follow me. But I don't get it. Nothing on their blog indicates they'd be interested in the geeky shit I'm posting. So I'm left wondering, does this person have other accounts with geeky stuff? Are they just indiscriminately following everyone in hopes of getting followers? Are they a bot?

At least you answered one option for me. :)

(Anonymous) 2016-09-16 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
Actually, if it's a legit porn blog -- like, posts gifsets from porn or talks about it or reblogs NSFW stuff, I leave it. You do you.

It's the ones that run like spam blogs with "CLick here for horny teen nudes!!!!!!1" and nonsense titles that I block.

I just think it is weird that my blog is mostly filled with slash and yet all the porn blogs that follow me are just filled with naked women. Like, what about my blog gave you the idea that I was even interested in that? Plus, they mostly seem like troll blogs and I'm too worried about viruses or whatever to actually click on any of them. What exactly is the point of following someone for a porn blog if they haven't shown interest in that sort of thing?

(Anonymous) 2016-09-16 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
It's not pearl clutching it's more that porn blogs are not relevant to their interests and they can't check new followers blogs at school/work. Also the fact that most porn blogs are run like spambots that automatically follow people just for using one innocuous word in their post.

(Anonymous) 2016-09-16 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
I'm more wondering why a fucking porn blog would follow my fandom-centric anime blog that is 100% sfw. What the fuck do they want from me? I'm not gonna follow them back for their nasty porn posts. If I want porn I have other places and I'm not looking for it on fucking tumblr of all places.

I don't give a shit about whether people want to post porn. I *do* give a shit about porn bots spamming me, which is what people are complaining about.

(Anonymous) 2016-09-16 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
I don't mind if you run a porn blog. But the blogs following me that seem to be pimping I have a problem with.

(Anonymous) 2016-09-16 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
I just block and report them as spam and move on

(Anonymous) 2016-09-16 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
I block the second I notice it's a porn bot. Like, I reblog random stuff, ranging from different fandoms. Why in all hell would the bots think I want them to follow me? If I wanted to find some porn, I can find it on my own without them following me.

I have a porn blog I sometimes follow ppl with 😂😂😂 people just like to be faux offended that potentially fake accounts are following them.

I'm more annoyed by the porn bots in the dog training tag myself. Report report.

(Anonymous) 2016-09-16 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
They're talking about porn spam bots, not porn blogs run by actual people associated with fandom.

(Anonymous) 2016-09-16 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
I don't mind porn blogs if they'd be interesting. So many are so male gaze-y, and I'm just bored. But the ones that show men are predominantly gay. Cis-gender bi woman here. I would totally look at your porn if it were INTERESTING.

[personal profile] sachiko_san 2016-09-16 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
It's not that it's porn, it's that it's a spam bot account.

If a general porn blog follows me-- or one that's tailored to an off the wall niche that has nothing to do with what I blog about-- I assume a bot runs it and they made a mistake or latched onto something I tagged 'nsfw'. I certainly don't clutch my pearls over the fact that porn blogs are out there, doing their thing and providing a service of sorts for the people who want it.

I do get INCREDIBLY skeeved out when BBW porn blogs follow me, though, because I don't want my completely non-sexual selfies used as wank fodder by strangers, I don't want to have to feel like I need to police my words when I make ordinary blog posts about my relationship with my body or talking about what I ate at any given time because maybe a fat woman talking about food is enough for some stranger to get his jollies from, and I don't think that's prudish or unusual of me. If you run a porn blog and you just also want to follow blogs that are interesting to you, that's fine, though you shouldn't be surprised if people get creeped out/block you. It's a super asshole move to follow people just to get a rise out of them, though. Some of them are bound to be underage, for one thing.

Also it's really creepy to feel like you are being sexualized against your will by strangers. It's creepy when men do it out on the street, it's creepy when someone running a porn blog does it to you on tumblr. Porn blogs don't need to follow random people who are just trying to live their (online) life. You follow other porn blogs, or... I dunno, blogs that mostly post porny stuff even if they aren't strictly a porn blog, I imagine they wouldn't be creeped out by it so much.

You know people aren't complaining about the blogs run by people, right? It's the spam porn bot blogs that everyone's complaining about.
