29. I loved Gwen/Owen in s1 because I was so fed up with Gwen, and the affair made her interesting. I'm too in love with Rhys now though, and have a kink for Owen/Ianto.

30. I sort of agree. The episode was played to be funny, so that's why most people like her, but at the same time I can't help but find it weird that she spent all that time doing things in his body while he was asleep.

51. I think I've become immune to "Torchwood sucks!" secrets/reviews/comments. We get it, you love Dr Who and Torchwood will never be as good, now kindly stop moaning about the same damn things all the time.

For me, Torchwood is the perfect show, because when it's good I adore it, and when it's hilarious nonsense I also adore it. Also, I basically would the entire cast.

Some of the best art and music of this generation was created in response to "shit that pissed people off" enough to do something about it. I see this milieu as being no different. Different canvas, variety of intents. (It takes a shitload of people to make a body chain, but only one person to step up and start it off.)

Like said in the secret, I am proud of my work, and I love the feedback I get, but I do feel like I get overlooked because I'm writing about ideas a lot of the fandom disagrees with or that just aren't as popular in favor of more "dramatic" ideas. I don't write to be popular, I mostly just write for me, but it's still nice to get encouragement.

21. I like them best because they have AIRSHIPS and RHINOS and GIANT INDUSTRIAL LOOKING SHIPS. Also, red and black go really sexy together, and even sexier together when there's fire and a hot royal family involved. (Yes, I'm really not a five year old boy. I know, the resemblance is decieving)

I'm not sure why you need any sort of really amazing reason to like the Fire Nation. Why do people need to justify their love of anything fandom-related? Or, judging by the comments, to find someone else's reasons dumb? I mean, there are dumb reasons, but what's the matter with having one?

14. You have caused a hilarious adolescent memory to surface. I had a giant textual crush on R. Daneel Olivaw from Caves of Steel. Somehow, this led me to imagine that my vegetarian Sanitarium Country Stew was zymoveal. I even used to eat it with mashed potatoes and stewed apricots for dessert, just like Lije Bailey.

The Beeb once did a TV version of CoS with David Collings (whom I adore - you may know him as Silver from Sapphire and Steel) as Daneel. I believe, tragically, it has not survived.

38. I like her. I didn't like that it had to be Kim/Ron at the end of everything just because they were bestest-best buddies, because I felt like Kim really didn't treat him like an equal (not crime-fighting, just in general), but at least he stepped it up at the end. (I love Ron dearly.)


42. I have no idea what that's from, but the theory sounds pretty cool (gotta love nice guys who turn into unexpectedly cool villians. Again, see Ron.)


51. I wholeheartedly agree with your assesment of Jack, Gwen, and Tosh. Especially Gwen. I think the most annoying thing about her was that it was obvious we were supposed to "intentify" with her. I do love Owen, though, and I think the last season added some depth to his character. Like I keep saying, you actually see the moment in his past where he just broke. I liked Ianto in both seasons but I don't really like his thing with Jack. But quiet butler-type who can basically make everything run smoothly and get you anything from coffee to a wedding dress on short notice? That's kinda cool.
I find it funny that for a show that's apparently filled with as much sexy-sex as Torchwood, not a single freaking character has a drop of real chemistry with another (except Rhys, but he's adorable, and feels real).
