Are there really a lot of people who will tell you you're racist for wanting to learn a language because you enjoy media originally made in that language? I'm not going to claim it's never happened because this is the internet, but I have a hard time believing it's a widespread problem.

Dumb SJWs are the only ones. But OP should ignore them. I saw a SJW some weeks ago saying that sexualizing Asian characters is racism. Not sexualizing them because they are Asian or sexualizing their Asian features, which would be pretty gross and creepy. The mere act of sexualizing someone who happens to be Asian was racism according to this person.

I'm sure everything has been called problematic at least once. But I don't think I have to believe it every time.

I've seen multiple people accuse white people of learning another language (for any reason, not just because you like the media) for cultural appropriation and that they should keep their distance from POCs. You know you've taken a wrong turn in life when your SJW tumblr is indistinguishable from Stormfront.

LOL

Yep.

There's a reason why I go by my vaguely Japanese-inspired pen name online rather than my rather obviously white girl real name. I got hounded as my real name, but people praise me to high heaven under my pen name. It's so silly!
