How do you feel about replacement characters being better than the originals?

This is not universal, but there's a trend in making new characters BETTER than their predecessors. They always have to be so much smarter, stronger, and better than the original characters. The example I'm thinking of is the newest female Iron Man—who, from what I understand, is way smarter than Tony Stark and better than him at everything.

It's not that I don't like the idea of a smart, strong female Iron Man. It's more based around the fact that I'm reading Iron Man comics because I like Tony Stark, and they're naturally posing her as his competitor. I don't know how they could make it different, but it just sort of bugs me. It's harder for me to get attached to new characters that appear in this manner.

I have absolutely no control over myself when something makes me feel good emotionally.

Like a tasty cocktail, I won't stop sipping on it until it's gone...in like 10 seconds LOL this one always makes me look so bad. Or food, I honestly savour everything I eat, but because I don't do anything else while I eat (like put the fork down to check my phone, etc), it goes pretty quickly.

When it comes to people, it's very rare for me to connect with someone, but I've had a history of going back to exes just for cuddles because it makes me feel really happy to reconnect.

I also could hold my dog all day long if she let me. When she's around, I feel really light and happy. I need her.

And I can't go a full week without at least talking to my grandma on the phone, or I will become depressed. Same with my dad. But I can't go more than 3 days without both of them at the same time. I need to at least send my dad a small text or something.
