What are some local ballots you are voting on and concerned about?

Lets see. there were four votes for issues for Massachusetts. There was one about allowing more charter schools, which I voted against. There was one involving treatment of animals (I think it was chickens) and I voted for that. And there was one that I had a hard time with because it was legalizing marijuana in the state but without any regulation whatsoever. I think I voted no, honestly, because while I absolutely want it decriminalized and probably legalized, not like that with no regulation whatsoever. I can't remember what the fourth one was.

We had one in FL about infrastructure ( I think it was about rounding some kind of tax up to fix the roads, I'll have to double check), marijuana legalization, and solar power.

There was a thing about retaining three state judges here in Iowa. They were instrumental in making it so that same-sex marriage became legal here back in 2009, and some people demanded they be voted out because "activist judges!" and whatnot.

That was about the only big issue of note for us, though.

Here in Story County an offensively stupid Trumpling is running for auditor on a "Prevent Election Fraud" platform--also a "God at the Center of Every Decision" platform. How's this for a God-centered proposal--she wants ISU students to vote in their home countries instead of Story--because obviously people who only live in Ames for 36 out of 48 months aren't stakeholders, and nobody at all could mistake this for a transparent ploy to remove a big bloc of voters that swings Democrat.

Oh, lord.

The hell is wrong with Iowa. We let people like Steve fucking King be part of our government, Terry Branstad's governor again for reasons I can't explain, and now we've gone for Trump. Fucking hell. At this point I don't know whether I want to move to a blue state or out of the U.S. altogether.

On the other hand, all three of the State Supreme Court justices that were up for retention made it. At least that's one in the eye for Bob VanderPlaats, maybe now he'll sit down and shut up and take his Family Leader Summit with him.

A vicious, pig-ignorant racist, a blowhard and showman who thinks bluster is courage...this is what we've wished on ourselves for the next 4 years?

LOL, California's proposition system is insane. There's always so many to research (including who's funding the Yes/No campaigns!), and exactly how local effects will be (because the Valley gets screwed in LA's priorities).

God, researching all those propositions was such a pain in the ass.

Yeah. We also had 14 city ballot measures where I am.

In NJ, we're voting on allowing two casinos in northern counties and also if the gas tax should only be allocated towards the transportation fund. Obviously no on casinos and yes on the gas tax issue.

There were, I believe, 15 ballot issues in California and 24 in San Francisco so. Few local issues.

Mostly keeping an eye on legal marijuana and death penalty in CA.

Oklahoma had several. Sadly, I am such a red state, I doubt my vote will change things. They had a shitty Death Penalty one and the Right to Farm bullshit (that would make it harder for the government to regulate farmers).

We have a constitutional amendment so our local politicians don't have to vote for their own pay raises.

I live in PA. We are voting on a measure whose wording has been (deliberately) changed from what it was on the primary ballot -- http://www.phillymag.com/news/2016/11/05/ballot-questions-presidential-election/

In the primary election, the question was worded, "Shall the Pennsylvania Constitution be amended to require that justices of the Supreme Court, judges and justices of the peace (known as magisterial district judges) be retired on the last day of the calendar year in which they attain the age of 75 years, instead of the current requirement that they be retired on the last day of the calendar year in which they attain the age of 70?"

Or basically, shall the mandatory retirement age for judges in PA be raised from 70 years old to 75 years old?

And the majority vote rejected it.

Now on today's ballot, the wording is, ""Shall the Pennsylvania Constitution be amended to require that justices, judges and justices of the peace be retired on the last day of the calendar year in which they attain the age of 75 years?"

There was a survey done that showed that most people who read that question didn't know that the current age limit was 70 and that voting yes would raise that limit -- they thought the question was asking to implement a age limit where there hadn't been one before.

So there no doubt will be a fuckton of people who didn't vote in the primary, and/or who don't know about the current age limit, and/or who aren't reading the question closely, who will vote "yes" when they would mean to vote "no" if they knew the whole picture. And of course, Republicans are behind the wording change because they are actual cartoon villains IRL.

The only local thing I was concerned about was making sure Judge Ruelhman loses his job.

I just moved outside county lines so I could not vote on Indianapolis' transportation initiative to do something to revamp and expand our really shitty public transit system, but I'm really hoping the measure wins and have encouraged people I know to vote for it

Whole bunch of judges were up for retainment vote and if any of them are voted out, Brownback gets to choose the next one... makes me uncomfortable on principle.

Kansas also had some "constitutional right to fish/hunt" which I thought was stupid, and my city had a sales tax increase for roads up for vote which I'm for.

Pharmaceutical companies are spending a massive amount of money to defeat a California proposition aimed at reducing drug prices. Ironically, I actually voted against it--it seems too convoluted and piecemeal to work for its intended purpose, and doctors are saying it could cause delays in ordering drugs for people who need them.

Austin TX is voting on a transportation bond to improve traffic flow and increase pedestrian-friendliness. I want that bond to pass. This city is becoming a real city and we need real city infrastructure now.

Legalizing marijuana and upping the minimum wage

In Arizona. And somehow we've become a state that could go either way this election. There's also a representative race for my district that could be pretty important.
