Skylar really isn't innocent or particularly altruistic, though. I do think she's interesting, because in season 1, I am fairly confident she was written with the intent of making the audience hate her - nagging wife without any real redeemable qualities. But the interesting shift is how the further off the deep end Walter goes, the more you like Skylar - and the darker Skylar's life gets, the more you really want to be on her side. I can't imagine a typical viewer hates her beyond the first two seasons, unless she really left a bad taste in their mouth to start with.
