Man, it's so weird, I ship Viktuuri, love their dynamics, fell in love when Yuuri said all he wanted to do if he won Onsen on Ice was to eat katsudon with Viktor.

But like, ever since episode 7 my brain keeps trying to find loopholes in all the canon evidence we're getting. I'm having the same reaction as what you are describing : what if it was really a good luck charm? Even though the actual canon is constantly beating my head so that their canonical romantic relationship goes through my thick af skull.

I really really wanna believe, and I should believe, and it should make me happy but I can't, idk but I know it's driving me up the fucking wall.

You know, I actually have a bit of this as well. It's just ... too good to be true, I guess, and anime have a kind of terrible track record with going pretty far with their fujoshi fanservice just to pull back at the very last second.
I think what makes me more hopefully that they'll actually follow through this time is some of the comments one of the writers made on twitter and that it would take some mighty creative loops to jump through to actually no-homo the situation now.

I'm pessimistic. They wouldn't go so far with the """"plausible deniability"""" of it if they didn't want to have that out. It's so crazy, but I have no other explanation for it.

I think the thing they'll always be able to fall back to is Yuri's speech about how his kind of love isn't as clear-cut as romantic or platonic love so in the end, even if it looks like romance, they can always pull the "yes but it's not ~really~ romantic love" card.

Except that Viktor literally said it was an engagement ring and that they would get married after the competition?

God knows I get where the pessimism is coming from, after the number of shows that don't quite commit to that queer couple, but I don't see how there's any "plausible deniability" left at this point.

Masayoshi literally proposed marriage to Goto at the end of Samurai Flamenco, and went so far as to say that he'll "do everything your girlfriend would have", and the director weaselled out of that.
Unless they are *actually married* or state that they are *actually dating*, there is plausible deniability.
