Oh god, I hate him too. And with all the fucking fan shipping of him with Ochako - Which makes me feel super fucking uncomfortable, btw. I'm not much of a ship warrior usually but this just makes me skin crawl - and after the way Naruto went with Fuckman McEmo-Edge getting some romantic happiness... I'm just really worried how it's going to go down.

Yeah I never understood that ship either. I don't think it'll ever happen in canon though, the series is pretty devoid of any serious romance and Bakugo can't talk to anyone for more then a few panels without throwing a hissy fit and trying to blow them up lmao.

To be fair I thought the same of Sasuke Uchiha. And he actually tried to murder his future wife in cold blood and treated her like shit or completely ignored her for most of the duration of the manga.

I don't trust any male shonen authors and their fucked up ideas of romance.

Bugger off with this gendered shite. Do you read much yaoi by female mangakas? First the villain tries to rape the love interest and that's BAD but then the hero succeeds in raping the love interest and that's just fluffy love bunnies.

It makes more sense if you consider how people treat yaoi like porn rather than a narrative engine containing LBGT characters.

Why should it matter that most of his fans would hate him if they met him in real life? That's normal for liking a character. It's why villains can be popular. I know I'd hate over half of my favorite characters if they were real, but... they're not.

Most of the fans I know who like him seem to think he's an actual decent person with just minor anger issues...which if you ever read the source material, know that's not true lol. That's pretty much why I mentioned it, I feel like some fans don't really understand his characterize personality. Which bugs me even further now that's he's appprently the most popular.

Well I dunno, I've only read the manga but I really like Bakugo BECAUSE he is so incredibly loud and angry and a bully. I think he is the biggest, most immature brat and that's funny. So when he's there I'm always excited to see what sort of shit he'd get up to. It's the same reason I liked Joffrey: I want to see what dumb shit he'll do because it's entertaining. I'd punch him in the face irl, but the manga is just fun and I like seeing the loud character be loud? Each to their own, i guess~

Character polls are generally from Japanese audiences, so while foreign fans may dislike a character, the native audience enjoys them. It can also be the opposite; the Jp. fans may hate a certain character, but the same character may be immensely popular overseas. It's usually because a personality is off-putting in one region, but not the other.

I have not seen/read BnHA, but I'm guessing that's the case here.

Man, fuckin' Bakugou. Once a guy says, "Hey, why don't you just throw yourself off the roof, you waste of space", that's (oddly enough!) my line in the sand for 'I Don't Give A Fuck About This Fucker's Redemption, I Just Want Them Gone'.

I actually just went looking for Bakugou hate and couldn't find a damn thing, possibly because Tumblr's search function is useless and terrible, but now I feel even more annoyed.
