Dude, fuck them and write your fic. Write whatever you want, it's fiction. If someone doesn't like it they just need to look away. And if the comments bother you, don't read them. But write your fic.

Honestly, you may get some pissed off people, but I say just write it and not post it or tag it properly so there are no surprises. Who knows, maybe you'll find other people who feel the same way and have been looking for something gory to read. I like gore myself, but not for a series like YOI (yeah, it's "too pure" for me). I think it's great that you have a healthy outlet for your suicidal tendencies, but I hope you're also getting the help you need and deserve.

Well, you have some options here. You can do things like:

-Write it and post it somewhere where you have control over the comments, such as a writing journal on DW (this is what I do). Set the entry to No Comments, or screened comments, or allow comments but disable comment notification, or something.

-Write it and post it to Ao3 under the Anonymous collection, and archive-lock it, and set comment moderation.

-Write it and post it to Ao3 using a sockpuppet account, and archive-lock it, and/or disable comment notification, and/or set comment moderation.

-Write it and post it to the YOI kinkmeme on DW. (I don't frequent it myself but the impression I get is that you're not likely to get the kind of negative comments you're worried about.) You'll probably need to go through the motions of making a request and then filling it yourself.

-OR write it, but don't post it anywhere.

And of course proper tagging etc etc etc. Or Choose Not To Warn, that's a valid approach too.

I can understand being hesitant about it, because this fandom is kind of... intense. But there are things you can do to make those comments less likely to come if you do want to post it publicly.

And I will say you definitely aren't the only one with these kind of interests in this fandom.

^ these are all good options.

(Anonymous) 2017-01-19 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
Gore isn't my thing, but I wouldn't personally blame you for writing it.

I think the above advice is good, except that 'Choose Not to Warn' is likely to get someone stumbling into something they're not ready for. Warn people that it's gonna be dark, yeah?

Fuck 'em. Write your fic. There's someone out there yearning for it.

(Anonymous) 2017-01-19 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
Kick reason to the curb and fucking post it, you wuss.

Welcome to the club. I've never been scared of reblogging critical posts before, but this fandom feels almost cultish in its animosity towards "toxic" material.

Does it have to be "pure" before you get to it? Killing Stalking might be the fandom for you.

Write what you want OP, others have detailed above ways you can protect yourself if you post it online but if you're too scared to do that then definitely write it and just keep it to yourself. You'll get the catharsis you need with no nasty comments.

And you probably aren't the only one with that particular itch.

(Anonymous) 2017-01-19 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
As long as you tag it correctly post it if you want. I don't see why clogging up your blog with reminders of how much you wish you could die is the in vogue way to express/deal with suicidal feelings but writing gore fic should be considered wrong.

And I'm getting sick of the sanctimonius "now lets examine your REAL reasons for writing/liking this, because they're prob inevitably some kind of bigotry ALWAYS" fucks.

(Anonymous) 2017-01-19 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
Write it. Post it. Tag it. Practice the mighty art of shrugging ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I agree with most everyone else. Write it. Post it. Post it anonymously if you feel it necessary, but post it. Someone will appreciate it. Hell, if you actually post it, come back to f!s with a link - I'd like to read it!

(Anonymous) 2017-01-19 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
you're gonna get more hate for spelling his name wrong than writing gore. if you're married to both tho then just post it somewhere with comments turned off or don't post it at all and just write for yourself.

This is clearly something you need to write for YOU.

But I totally get not wanting to get crucified for what you produce.

So either write it and keep it for your eyes only, or post under a sockpuppet.

(fwiw, I do this from time to time, and I know at least one of my writer friends does as well.)

Have a boilerplate response on hand, like "If you don't like gore, then please look at the tags on this fic and then fuck off." So long as you tag properly, they have no right to say shit to you.

(Anonymous) 2017-01-19 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
Off topic but you made me remember that pic on Pixiv of R-18G of Yuuri made by fifi.jp.

(Anonymous) 2017-01-19 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
That is quite discouraging - would wish for variety in any fandom. Only commenting due to similar gore interests but my reason is different (and why I comment anonymously) - it is simply what has been familiar to me and working with a past full of it is daunting. The more psychological gore is, the more I can relate to. Alas, there does not need to be any sort of a deep reason nor anyone should be obligated to explain themselves (unless they create something with connotations you cannot separate such as 'neo-nazism').

(Anonymous) 2017-01-19 05:59 am (UTC)(link)
Come to the Hannibal fandom. We won't trash you for writing gore or destroying something beautiful.

Adult-FanFiction.org welcomes all comers, AFAIK; not just the porny but the generally "unsafe" and controversial types of fic that tend to be side-eyed in the wider fandom circles. All they ask is that you warn properly.

I've seen plenty of gore/gorn titles there which, after reading a few, I realized those type of stories weren't actually my cup of tea. The site's been up since 2002, and those old fics I read are probably still there to this very day.

If you write it, someone WILL want to read it. You just have to figure out where it will be welcomed.

I think it would be a good idea to post it on dw, since you can control comments you get and you can put in a BIG FANCY DISCLAIMER on what the fic has.
