...Dude Yuri has some of the most accurate anxiety I've ever fucking seen out of Japan. So, uh, hate it if you want, but the fact I could actually see myself for once and it didn't feel like some kind of joke was nice.

It's the intensity. Sometimes, yeah, sure, nerves. But there's also the all-out severity of it at points if that makes sense? And how he's always doubting Victor's feelings for him and such. I mean, that I definitely relate to.

It may not call itself that, but it sure as hell looks like it. And the "omg why would someone like him care about someone like me, he'll find someone better for sure" is pretty staple in shoujo.

Well it isn't officially in the BL genre it's in the sports genre which is pretty significant. Sports and shounen genres tend to be incredibly homophobic especially towards gay men since the target audience is usually straight men. Usually they'll give a lot of gay fanservice without committing but in this case they actually made it canon. I also think it's significant that its the main characters in a gay relationship and not a side couple.

Then this must be the only anime you've ever seen because I've seen so many anime that have characters with anxiety since anxiety itself is not uncommon and lots of people understand that feeling.
