Huh.

(Anonymous) 2017-01-28 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)This too. People have mentioned that it's sexist that the age gap isn't mentioned, but in a world where 20-somethings play teenagers in high school, it's possible that a lot of the characters aren't intended to have as large of an age gap as the actors actually have.

(Anonymous) 2017-01-29 12:50 am (UTC)(link)I'll agree with this, but the reason the older woman/younger man thing probably doesn't pop up frequently is because it's not as frequent as older man/younger woman in real life either.
Re: Huh.
(Anonymous) 2017-01-29 01:14 am (UTC)(link)While I'd say older man/younger woman is more prevalent in real life AMONG COUPLES WITH SIGNIFICANT AGE GAPS, but I'd argue that significant age differences between romantic couples are less common than in movies.

(Anonymous) 2017-01-29 03:10 am (UTC)(link)As you might guess, I don't think your theory is correct. I agree that in real life, you see a lot more older men with younger women. But the thing about movies and TV is that they regularly show quite a lot of things that don't happen in real life, so your idea that people are only being realistic seems unlikely to me.
