The first (and only) anime I ever watched was Evangelion.

I remember when Sci-Fi would air anime, I think this was in the late 80's or early 90's. I don't remember the names of the movies but if I saw them, I would remember. Then there was Liquid Television. One episode, they split up "The Running Man" into three sections. That .. god that was amazing!

My first anime was definitely one of the basics available to American children (Pokemon, Digimon, Sailor Moon, ETC)

But my first anime not specifically translated for kids was either Inuyasha or Cowboy Bebop, both of which left a lasting impression on 10 year old me and remain two of my absolute favorite shows.
