Somehow if they *did* come away with that impression, I'd laugh my ass off, it'd be awesome.

Yep, Doctor Who and Torchwood TRUE REPRESENTATIONS OF WHAT THE UK IS LIKE TO LIVE IN GUYS!

C'mon, a lot of people didn't have a clue to who Hugh Laurie was before they saw House (and that' awesome) - but I'll still always picture him putting his trousers on backwards and saying : fiddley-dee rather than his cane or American accent.

YES. I always think that when I catch glimpses of House; I just automatically revert back to, "Socks are like sex. There's a lot of it about and never seem to get enough!"

Oh, Laurie.

I can't pretend to have watched even a single full episode of House but I just know that, like you, if I sat down and watched it, I'd just be busy thinking; Pffft. I'd take evil German overlords dressed in cow suits and using costumes to dupe people in shagging them any day!

I love House, truly, it's great, but then you watch Blackadder, or a Bit of Fry and Laurie and wonder if House is taking itself FAR too seriously.



Seriously, I don't anything is more win than that line is.

Favorite Laurie and Fry stuff is still Jeeves & Wooster though.

Jeeves: If you'll pardon me for saying so, sir, it seems to be a reasonably straightforward syncopated five/four time signature. If you were to accent the words "if" "and" "where" and "fashion", I think you'll find that the correct rhythmic pattern would emerge.

Lawls! I'm American, but honestly, I couldn't watch House for almost a year (despite my friends saying how funny it was) because I couldn't imagine Hugh Laurie as anything but Stupid Prince George. It's still a bit surreal sometimes. (And heaven help me, I want Stephen Fry to come in and guest-star in an episode. Maybe as a really brilliant doctor from across the pond who drives House crazy or something. Anything!)
