Especially since some of us have been fans of the show since LONG BEFORE it was even ABOUT Rose, Martha or Donna, acting proprietary = not a good idea.

After all, I'm glad to see NuWho fans whose first Doctors were Eccleston or Tennant, but I grew up with Pertwee, Baker (the first one) and Davison, so if I was to adopt a similarly chauvinistic attitude, then I could be a dick and tell anyone who started watching Who after the 1980s to GTFO of "my" fandom.

31) Oh jesus, an Emma secret, fucking win. Seriously, I LOVE that manga and the anime, but most of my friends won't watch it either. And for the same reasons you listed -- it's boring (because it's "slice-of-life" and doesn't have big monsters or things exploding or mechas etc) and it doesn't have any "hot guys" (because none of the dudes are big muscular body builders with long hair and women's faces).

I adore this manga, it's so cool =D Don't be ashamed, if anything it's anti-shoujo in that the girl is lazy and blunt, and is cute but chooses to wear baggy clothes and a baseball hat, rather than the CUTEST NEW FASHIONS complete with little star hair clips and frilled skirts ;D Plus it dares to address the expectations that are placed on girls to look pretty all the time in order to get the guy and be happy.
