I happen to RP in the place with that profile in it. The player also happens to be a good friend of mine. If you don't like AUs then stay away. And this is the second time I've seen the same secret. This time it's in Fandom secrets instead of RP secrets.

17./ Look on the bright side. You will still sound good even if you transpose those songs down an octave to suit your range, and it's entirely possible you could train your voice to sing higher.

I'm a countertenor, and yes, I am a girl. It's impossible for me to sing along with a soprano or high alto without killing my voice, and a lot of soprano parts sound off when taken down three octaves. Low altos can give me difficulty at times if they hit a relatively high note. I can list the modern female artists that I know I can consistently sing along with on one hand. It really sucks to only be able to sing male parts with ease.

But you know what? It sucks even more when vocal instructors think it's impossible for a female to sing tenor. I've had so many voice instructors say I simply could not sing and had no voice because I didn't sound like a soprano or alto. It took one very awesome teacher who actually knew about voices who finally told me why I didn't sound like a typical female vocalist. Sadly, she moved away not too long after we figured out my voice and range, and I haven't found a new one since.

Rejoice in your alto voice, lass. Altos have very lovely voices, and oftentimes the best range of all the voices. The other alternative to soprano is far worse...

Geez, AU! hater much? You'll probably notice you're also the only person who thinks that way. Despite the AU, that character happens to still retain many of their original traits, so fail!points to you for your claim. Not to mention her player is also a very good RPer, and isn't the type to make Mary Sues out of her female characters. And why this character? Why not any of this player's characters? Why the need to attack a character which is probably her best character? Is this a personal grudge you have against the player? Or are you just out to snipe someone for no reason other than the thrill of it?

This character, in my opinion, is very well played and well written. They're characterized very well, and I myself couldn't think of a better interpretation. Not to mention that, again, despite the AU!, this character still kicks ass and takes names, just as much as the original. And hell if the "lol she's on her period" excuse is used all the time. It was only, iirc, ever used a couple of times, and then it was never used again. Not to mention this character is also very much not "hormonal" and "weepy". They're a very strong character, with a strong will and strong personality, and the player never turned them into a female just to make them into a "hormonal, weepy, appallingly OOC Mary Sue". I can't see any Mary Sue-ishness in the character mentioned.

So maybe take the blinkers off and look past the "stereotypes". Taking an oft-used idea and making it into something good is this player's strength. It's why her character is such a well-played character in the first place.

So I am intrigued in the poetry, the meaning behind it, etc. Also, don't know if you can answer this for me - is it pronounced "room-ee" or "rum-ee"? (or something else?) :-)

17. Alto is very much not a bad thing, even if the world seems to like to relegate us to the background singing "oooo." I thought it was the end of the world when I became one after having been a first soprano all my life, but since then I've grown to love it. And as for singing music originally performed by men, just do it and own it! I've sung "Desperado" and "Yesterday" at the original pitches, in public, and been complimented for it. (Don't know how well changing pronouns would go in other languages, though. English has it easy; they even rhyme sometimes!) My experience with transposing things hasn't been so great, partly because changing the key messes with my innate sense of pitch. If this is another thing that's bugging you, I feel your pain.

51. This pairing is kinda creepy to me because my husband and I always get Wash and Kaylee on "Which Character Are You?" tests. This makes me think that maybe in some AU, the ship could have worked well; but anything in canon would have just weirded both of us out.

23. I make my own icons (with GIMP, which seriously needs more love). I'll have to agree it doesn't have to be that difficult or time-consuming if you pick suitable source materials. But to assume everyone who uses icons by skilled icon makers is only doing so because of a bunch of fellows who judge people by their icons? Gimme a break.
