17. While I am just one person on the internet - I can't sing all that well. If I could, I'd rather be alto than soprano. The high pitch kind of hurts my ears, so I can almost never listen to jpop anymore because the whole thing is to be able to sing really high. Also, it feels like the only voice I can 'match right' is Freddie Mercury. I'd say be proud of your singing and sing along anyway, the sheer fact that you can sing sets you apart from a lot of fandom.

Budding Star KILLED me. I... actually don't have a problem with Navan? Oddly enough. My beef mostly lies with... like, Kerry and Cork. (Honestly, I think most other counties hate them.) And, obviously, Drogheda. (I'm totally lying about that actually. Other than Evanna, I have nothing against Drogheda. As mentioned, they have a TK Maxx and a srsly awesome McDonald's. Like, town walls too, I think? And my beef with Evanna? Lessening, due to some of the comments on here.)

I just wish to point out that I am an American who grew up watching BBC America, and I never believed that was how all British people acted, any more than I believed that, if I asked the right person, I could get directions to Sesame Street. Maybe I just have more intelligence than the average American.

17. If you have a talent, take advantage of it. Does it really matter what pitch your voice is if you can belt out AWESOME EPIC SONGS? It sounds like femininity is really important to you, but singing a song usually sung by a man doesn't make you any less of a woman. If it makes you feel better, I prefer singing mens' songs myself. (They get all the really powerful, moving ones. GIRLS DO NOT. >:C) You've lost nothing; you still have your voice, waiting to be used. Don't let the opportunity to show your talent slip away because you're insecure.

43. WHY? Ok, it's my favorite artist so I get really defensive about statements like this. But honestly? Look past the yaoi and the uke/seme PW stuff, the art is beautiful. Just look at the sketches/other series' fanart.

The art is technically impressive, I'll give you that. But they all look so plastic and soul-less; it's the type of art I REALLY hate, because it looks like everything else ever. There's not any character to it. Nothing stands out. It's all too smooth and stylised and boring.
And the uke-seme stuff is a serious irritant for me, so it's kind of hard to look past it.

54. It's a TV SHOW cry MOAR and get over it. It's called commerce. Besides how many US shows are shown over there? Do you hear us complaining? No. Because unlike you, we understand that more people watching our shows on their tv sets in other countries is good for our country's economy because it means someone's making money.

And excuse us for liking a show that's actually good compared to the crap the UK usually makes

Let me be the first person to actually address your point: Yeah, I, too, hate it if the female in any ship is treated like some kind of prize for the male. Although I don't think that this attitude is very rampant among Ulquihime fans. I'd be lying if I said that I never encountered it, but I think that those people are in a minority.

Other than that, like you I'm sitting on pins and needles whenever I think of what will happen once the main story continues. Personally I don't think that they will hook up *sobs* (I suspect that if any 'Hime ship will be canonized it'll be Ishihime), but if Ulqui dies there'll be many, many resurrection fics coming and I'd rather avoid that.

52. The same thing happened to me almost 2 years ago when I was going through a really rough time. I'm still figuring some things out about my faith and how I fit into it, but Rumi really helped me to find and reconnect with what I love and deeply believe about Islam rather than get bogged down in the expectations and the narrow-mindedness of my family that was keeping me away from it. It's not lame in the least to have that kind of experience as a result of poetry, and I'm glad I'm not alone. :)

(I also agree with you re: 13th century Islam. It seems like it would be so much more spiritually fulfilling to practice without all the politicization and posturing that's seemingly inevitable now.)
