I'm a British fan of both shows, and why on earth shouldn't Americans be fans as well? D'you really have to follow something from the very beginning to be a fan? (Have you been watching Doctor Who since it started, in the mid 1960s? Didn't think so.)

I, just...what?

And besides, if ALL American exported television suddenly disappeared from British screens, we'd have a massive gap on all channels. Why should you have to stick to your own country for decent television?

(To all Americans who read that secret - it's in no way indicative of the rest of our views. Pull up a chair, have some jaffa cakes and watch the Captain strut his stuff!

Thank you. :) And I was wondering--do you suppose the original poster thinks it's okay for, say, other members of the Commonwealth to watch UK shows, or are Canadians considered evol Telly stealers as well?

And if so, then I think Canada should get Torchwood back--the CBC is a co-producer!

Yeah, I don't want to have to depend on shows that rely on stereotypes and go, "SEE? WE'RE CANADIAN! LOOK HOW CANADIAN WE ARE!" Ugh, can we have ONE show where we're just normal?

Uh, yeah. Seriously. If there were only American shows playing in America and British shows playing in the UK, the airwaves would be a boring place indeed. Especially because of all the remakes suddenly being made. And the reality shows that cross over.

American fan here, BTW, and I have to say that all the British shows I've seen(Torchwood, Doctor Who, Top Gear, to name a few) are better then some of the stuff on American TV nowadays, so people should feel honored that more people are paying attention to things coming from your neck of the woods.

And 54, it goes both ways: characters in American TV don't represent all Americans either. FICTION =/= REALITY =/= FANDOM OPINIONS.
