The actor or the character? Either way, I don't agree. I think Chris Evans has a normal emotive face. And not sure what the hairline has to do with showing emotion.

Obv the hairline comment is an aside untelated to emoting.

Isn't the character supposed to be like that?

(Anonymous) 2017-02-25 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I can kind of see what you're saying when he's Steve in any CA/Avengers movies but he looks very normal guyish in any other movie.

Huh...Evans has a very expressive face, though. I think he deliberately plays Steve as more contained, but I would not say his face is not expressive. As for the hairline/uncanny valley - I think the character is supposed to be slightly on the uncomfortable end of perfect, so it works for me. I think the deliberately make his make-up accentuate that, too.

I haven't watched enough of him (only Snowpiercer, TWS...) but 'kisser commando' is making me laugh so much.

...his hairline is creepy.

...

I legitimately have no idea how to respond to this, and must assume it is a troll secret.

He doesn't look uncanny valley to me at all, but then I don't think any MCU character does for me, he looks like a normal dude.

(Anonymous) 2017-02-25 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
He looks fine as hell with a beard, the clean-shaven look doesn't suit him as much. Plus IA the makeup or styling has been somehow off for every Cap appearance after the first solo movie.

yeah I'm p. sure you are alone in this. His facial expressions look normal to me at any rate. Although I am somewhat biased since Cap is my favorite superhero and Chris Evans is 100% perfect in the role.

[personal profile] mrs_don_draper 2017-02-26 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
You're all alone on that one.

(Anonymous) 2017-02-26 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
Despite the particularly odd pic you chose, he's got a pretty normal range of facial expressions. Maybe leans a little "clenched jaw and furrowed brow," but he's playing Captain America, not Jim Carrey.

I don't see what the big deal is about the guy, so you're not alone, OP.

(Anonymous) 2017-02-26 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
Agreed. I'm glad I'm not alone in this. He's not ugly or creepy... just seems unpleasant to me. Something about his face. And I also don't like the CA hair, though I've never singled out the hairline.

I don't really understand the wording on this secret. Kisser commando? Real (?) face/masked mug?

Whatever. I disagree. Chris Evans has a perfectly natural range of facial emotions & so does Steve Rogers/Cap. Have you seen anything Cap's in besides the first Avengers movie?

(Anonymous) 2017-02-26 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
KISSER COMMANDO

(Anonymous) 2017-02-26 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
I disagree with you about the expressiveness thing, but the uncanny valley bit may be because they use CGI "beauty work" to erase lines and small wrinkles on actors' faces in movies these days. Even young ones. There have been a few shots where the CGI felt too obvious to me (like the scene with old Peggy in her hospital room in CA: Winter Soldier) and I got a bit of the uncanny valley feeling.

If you look at candid pictures of him, even where he's wearing makeup, he has more lines on his face than he does in the extreme closeups in the movies.

This is why you don't make secrets when you're drunk.
