- Heroes becoming so awful. Also, pandering to Sylar fangirls contributing majorly to the poor quality of the show.

- Every fandom I've tried getting into since my first one preferring fanfic (mostly involving ships I don't sail) over meta.

(Even Mad Men was mostly Peggy/Don fanfic. Mad Men should've had the best meta ever.)

As well as way worse RL things, but I won't go there.

The first season of Heroes was amazing, the writer's strike derailed season 2 and then wait, did season 3 and 4 happen? I pretend those don't exist.

I think the writer's strike derailed television, to some extent. It's how reality TV became so big - it was already there, with Paris Hilton's show and Apprentice and the Osbournes, but it went from little known shows to "sock hoarder" shows to replace everything that wasn't airing. Now networks have to make room for it all.

The writer's strike definitely changed the face of television. Some shows got a second season when they wouldn't have otherwise (October Road and Pushing Daisies, but both were short shows) but Lost and Heroes were really affected by the strike.

Comedies were easier to pick back up again, you hardly notice the blip in The Office, but with dramas, it was more pronounced.
