I'm sure they had so thanks for telling them! Next time they'll know to keep their mouth shut to avoid showing the world that they are an idiot who thinks like is always fair.

Maybe it would be better if you could just kick people in the face until they shut up or something, every time they talk about something that's upsetting them. Then you wouldn't have to deal with reminding them that life isn't fair every time they obviously forget that and show it by stupidly opening their mouths.

Things like this happening are not the result of some kind of cosmic coincidence. They are the result of decisions we've made and systems we've built. You can't just throw up your hands and say, hey, you know, misery happens, when it is the concrete result of a system.

It's possible to say that the system we've built is the best possible system even if it does have consequences like this. But for Pete's sake defend it on that ground, and not on the ground that it's a result of some kind of naturally-ordained necessity.
