I do not. I don't care if people know I unfollowed them or not because I don't take tumblr seriously. I once had someone message me asking why I unfollowed them, and I blocked them without replying. It just doesn't matter.

Even if someone doesn't take tumblr overly seriously, that doesn't mean they want to deal with the real world fallout if Little Miss Persecution Complex throws a sobbing fit to their mutual pal. Which is a pretty common MO for the performative victims of the world.

If someone is going to start crying over losing a tumblr follower, then it's a good idea to get out. Seriously, you'd have to be a nutcase to (a) know someone unfollowed you, (b) track down who unfollowed you, and (c) cry about it to an IRL person.

You're being really judgy and pushy for someone who doesn't know anon's actual situation very well. Maybe let them make their own decisions?

This isn't the first time or the first site where I've seen people complaining about easily avoidable situations, and I'm honestly just tired of it. If I seem judgey and pushy, it's intentional.

I use friend or follow to check if a mutual has unfollowed me. It's free and easy to use--and someone like the op is worried about probably uses that. And it tells you which blogs you follow that don't follow you, mutuals and fans (blogs which follow you but you don't follow) and does so in a matter of minutes, so it doesn't really take that much. I don't care if non-mutuals unfollow me, I unfollow blogs all the time. But if a mutual unfollows me, then, I'll unfollow them.

And just because YOU think tumblr is a joke, doesn't mean everybody else does. You're a bit of jerk for being so dismissive about this, especially as there is possible RL fall out for op. Although I will say I'm not surprised....

I notice when people unfollow me on both tumblr and instagram. I'm not obsessively watching my numbers, but they're low enough that a loss of one (or a gain of one) is noticeable. Really not that unusual to notice those types of things.

It just sounds like you don't really understand Human Emotions and how people work.

jfc you are so fucking abrasive. If you do actually have anxiety, I'm shocked you can't understand that it manifests differently in different people and it's not something you just "get over" and "deal with."

I think you're being unnecessarily harsh when someone said it gave them anxiety.

HOWEVER.

I agree 100 percent on the 'i don't give a fuck'. I have no clue if/when people follow *or* unfollow/friend or unfriend me on LJ or DW or FB or Tumblr. I'm not even sure how you check without actively hunting them down, and wow, I don't care.

I am also very tired of people making mountains out of mole-hills, but since my daughter has pretty bad anxiety over stuff that's no big to me, I don't get up in her (or other people's) faces about it if that's the issue.

Me, too. Someone on my LJ flist posted tonight about a situation with family, and their is a very simple and easy solution to avoiding stress and unhappiness, but i just *know* they'll have a reason to be all 'oh, no, i could never!'

I getcha. That's honestly why it took me so long to unfollow a couple of friendly acquaintances lol. But I found tumblr much less stressful after that, and unless you interact with her a lot, she probably won't even notice being unfollowed, especially if she's just a friend of a friend.

I hope not lol. Maybe I'll get lucky, and she'll just assume that it was a porn bot that got de-activated.

But yeah, I don't really talk to her a lot, so that does help.
