Pretty fucking annoyed at everyone who tried to talk like Obamacare was The Worst Thing Ever and definitely a good reason not to support Democrats and could definitely easily be improved on(especially the people On Here who were extremely convinced about this)

what are they doing now

The biggest I've heard is that if you're young and poor, you'll get less help paying for your insurance than if you're old and poor. Because young people never get cancer or involved in wrecks or shootings or anything.

Also there's something about $3,000 exposing how little the people making these laws actually understand what it costs to be sick, but I don't really understand the plan or argument.

My favorite is that they got rid of the individual mandate... and replaced it with a surcharge on insurance plans that you incur when you buy insurance after being off it for more than two months.

So in other words, you still incur a monetary penalty for not having insurance; it just goes to a corporation instead of the government. Also it might be more punitive, I'm not sure.

If you are out of insurance for 2 months or more, you pay a 30% surcharge on premiums for a year.

They are cutting AND capping Medicaid, defudning PPFA (not like PP used that shit for abortions anyway as that was ILLEGAL to begin with), allowing deductions of pay above 500,000/yr, they're forcing a vote on this in 2 days without it being total public knowledge, pre-existing conditions are not covered UNLESS you are continuously insured (so if, for whatever reason, you lose your insurance and you have a pre-existing condition, good luck getting covered again).

Those are just a few I've seen.

Yep. I haven't looked a major breakdown of the bill, but those were the most talked about.

This is one of the many things that absolutely boggles my mind about the GOP's attitude on the abortion issue. Federal funding already doesn't go to abortions, as you note, so why the hell do they keep acting like it does? Why keep campaigning to put a stop to something that doesn't happen in the first place?

(Obvious answer, of course, being because they're morons who make shit up, but still... And these are the idiots in charge of our country. Fantastic.)

I KNOW. Hell, PP has even put forth their spending from the Government and everything that's actually funded is everything that ISN'T abortions. What they get for safe abortions is all DONATIONS. FROM THE PUBLIC.

I just...these guys are dangerously STUPID.

They really are.

And you'd think the donations should also be a clear sign that that means there's plenty of people in this country who are more than happy to help support keeping abortion legal and keeping these centers open for women who need them in general.

But logic clearly isn't this party's strong suit.

Personally I'm looking forward to the inevitable parodies of Spicer doing his "look how much less paper is involved with our plan!" thing.

I saw the clip of that on Colbert's show tonight.

That is just....wow. I don't even have words to describe the stupidity.

Seriously. Like, could he be any more of a condescending prick?

Hell, I don't even HAVE any of those gadgets he talks about. Nobody in my family does. And yet we STILL struggled to be able to afford things like that before Obamacare came along. When my dad was deathly ill back in 2009/2010, we barely had shit of ANY sort. We were lucky to be able to afford food and heat and a roof over our heads, let alone anything else. And my parents had to go through ridiculous amounts of red tape just to even TRY and get some sort of health coverage for my dad. We know all about sacrificing. And it still didn't save my dad's life.

So yeah. Fuck that jackass.
