I'm guessing the attack is coming from people in similar situations. Hitting a little to close to (their parent's) home.

(not that I can talk, I live with my mom; but hey, full time job and full time student with a 4.0 GPA here. so I can't safely assume it's not me this secret is about)

20. Chii is a robot. Although she has the ability to love, she wouldn't have a clitoris because she's a computer. Her switch is down there because if anyone were to take advantage of her love and have sex with her, they'd be screwed because they'd reset her memories and shut her off, losing everything that would truly be important.

It takes a love like Hideki's to not have sex with her in order to preserve their relationship.

i'm working under the assumption that, if there were any mitigating factors such as the ones you mentioned, the OP wouldn't have a problem with that person's situation, or at least would've mentioned such circumstances in their rant. surely the OP knows whether or not that person CAN hold a job, and the impression i got was that he/she is only irritated because the person chooses NOT to. if the fandom is as close-knit as the secret implies, surely the OP is aware of any circumstances that would actively prohibit that person from getting a job.

I'm not in the business of looking for the exceptions- that's a waste of my time. If you can work, and you aren't looking ... loser. Period. There's plenty of work out there. 1) I will never understand how people seem to be proud of being "a judgemental twat on the Internet" when I assume they at least try to be decent human beings in real life. I know the Internet isn't serious business, but geez. The people you talk to through a screen are the same kind of people you talk to in real life, no more, no less.

2) I'm not saying this ISN'T the case with the person the OP is talking about, but if you don't know, you're being just as ridiculous as the people who are assuming that that person is crippled. All s/he is saying is that the person is unemployed and living at home. Not that they do or do not have medical or psychological problems, not that they do or do not have mitigating circumstances, and not, you know, whether or not the person IS looking for a job.

3) The admission is not just that it's a bitchy trait. It's also saying that s/he knows it's bitchy and has absolutely no shame about it, besides also admitting that s/he is two-faced enough to lie to other people just so no one will think s/he's anything less than perfect.

4) ... Actually, I try very hard not to go "okay this person is worthless, AVOID =D" for anything less than them being a BAD PERSON. Puts me in the minority, I guess. But people are people whatever they like or their habits, they aren't just defined by one thing. I'm not going to lie, I have been judgemental before, but I've tried NOT to be, and am ashamed when I catch myself at it.

That's the big thing, I guess. The attitude of "I have just labelled this person as unworthy of me, and I know it's bitchy of me, but lol I don't care♥" is what grates on me, though I can't speak for the other anon or anyone else.

Why is it that so many college kids wave their GPAs around like some sort of penis. And I've noticed that every college kid who gets into an internet argument with someone has a 4.0. >_> We'll see in a few years if your degree actually lands you a decent career and if you don't end up like the person you're mocking. Depending on what you've got that 4.0 in, you still might not be able to find a job.

Also: if you're going to dish out snark, don't do it unless you can take the heat.

No no, I'm not covering it up with other excuses not to hang out with people. I'm way worse; I'm honest. I could be 'nice' and pretend that I don't like someone because they're opinionated, but I'd rather just take the shortcut and admit my own shortcomings.

I find it hard to be nice on the internet when I'm not endlessly nice in the real world. Give me respect, you get it back. Cross me, I'm pretty much done. I don't have the time to hang out with people who tick me off when I have lots of friends who rub me the right way.

I guess talking about my GPA was kinda pointless, but I only just got the grades and I'm still pretty proud of them. Give me a week, I'll probably forget all about them xD
