Isn't this one of those known subtle sexism things? There's some term for it that I don't know but aren't we sort of "trained" to find women's voices more likely to be irritating than men's?

Side note- I'm usually okay with narrators of either gender except when they have to do voices for the other gender. That usually grates on me either way.

Ha! I read Grrl Power. It's very, very dorky in a nerd-boy way, and you have to be able to accept the goofiness.

It took me years to get into El Goonish Shive, and I didn't start at the beginning when I finally got into it. I don't think that's really necessary. I think I may have started with one of the stories with Charlotte, and then got back to the beginning when I wanted to read the whole thing. That worked better for me than just starting at the beginning.

Both of these comics are completely mad, and you shouldn't feel bad if you're not into either of them.
