My take here is that - totally disregarding the causes and reasons it happens - it is a good and cool thing to pump up people that way and make sure they're visible, especially from minority groups and such.

I think the point they're making involves that this isn't really anything new or specific to minority groups. In that regard, she's receiving equal treatment, regardless of if that treatment is fair at all, since that's a different issue.

I'm not the OP but that's what I took away from it.

I understand the OP's point. My point is that, regardless of why people aren't saying her name, it's a good thing to emphasize her name.
