Care to explain what's so terrible about the Gutenberg Project?
Just curious.

I'd assume the lack of genre fiction. There is some, but not much, and none of it modern (for obvious reasons).
Project Gutenberg is amazing, but I can see sometimes wanting more variety or more modern stuff.

Not the OP, but the Gutenberg project only has books in the public domain, so while they can be a good place to get classic literature, they're not going to have anything recent. Maybe that's it?

Care to explain what's so great about it? It's true value lies in the role it plays in preserving classic literature, but it isn't much help for the average modern reader. And that's ok, it's just ridiculous for supporters to act like it's something it isn't.

This is a really weird overreaction in response to someone who only wanted to know why the Gutenberg Project didn't work for OP.
