And wait.
The writer got in touch to apologise for the delay back in late January, and I have heard nothing since! What do I say? What do I do? This is making me so mad!

(Anonymous) 2017-04-20 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)They said when they got in touch that life had gotten on top of them, but I looked at their AO3 profile and they've been active there since, so they're obviously not too busy to write...
I didn't give a strict timetable for the fic, but I did say that I really didn't want them to drop out of contact for months, because that's exactly what happened the last time I tried to commission a writer :(

(Anonymous) 2017-04-20 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)Depending on how that goes, I'd also drop a polite note to whoever organized the charity auction. Don't get huffy or insulting, just give a concise summary of the facts. Especially if the writer ghosts you.

(Anonymous) 2017-04-21 12:16 am (UTC)(link)As a writer, I understand that completely. But it's still not acceptable, especially in this situation. OP is well within their right to give the writer a firm nudge. It might even help, because then it's harder for the writer to ignore the issue.
