I resent that YouTube started quashing fanvids. They cite copyright infringement, but that's actually how I found some of my favorite songs.

When I was more into fanvids I ended up discovering so many amazing artists and songs. It's the best way, for me, to discover new music.

I feel the same way about 8tracks and tiny amount of time they let you listen to playlists now. Fanmixes are really the only way I discover new music. I guess YouTube can fuck off too because they're blocking some videos from appearing on Playmoss as well.

I really feel like fanvids should be something that should fall under fair use.

IDK copyright and fan activity is always fucked in the way it works. Logically I don't get why sites like Buzzfeed are able to steal as much content as they like and make money off it, but things like fanvids/fanart/fanfic which can be works of art in their own right aren't considered fair use and therefor subject to removal.

(BTW I do understand the basics of copyright law so I *get it* but I also don't *get it* you know? Like I understand the legality but I think it's a fucked system.)
