Signed up for driving classes. I know I need to learn but the idea of driving tomorrow terrifies me.

If you are scared of driving, then just buy an automatic.

An automatic transmission is the next best thing though. It doesn't qualify as driving unless it has a clutch pedal to work.

Driving classes should be a big help. I'm sure they'll start slow! Try not to blame yourself, lots of people find driving hard. I'm sure the instructors have dealt with nervous drivers before. Becoming familiar with the vehicle will help, I think.

Hey, if I got my license you can get yours! :) Just give yourself the time. Putting in the practice (even if it feels like you never improve) will get you there eventually. We all have to go at our own pace...but even the slowest steps eventually get somewhere.

Thanks! The people I've talked to from the company (so far) have seemed very friendly. Though, I hope doing two 3-hour driving lesson (one on Tuesday and one Wednesday) won't be too tiring!

Sorry. I can say that I used to be terrified of driving. Hated it. A lot of practice helped. There are still things that scare me. For me personally, I'm better on highways and when I know where I'm going because speed isn't my issue, multiple turns and direction confusion is. I actually found, surprisingly, that having the radio on helps because it keeps me focused and my nerves calm. The other thing I do is that I never parallel park, and I always pull through in parking spots at stores if I can because backing out is really hard for me, and the longer walking distance of far away spaces is less of a bother for me than trying to back out.

I listen to audiobooks! It helps with nerves for me.
