I'll probably get told to google it, but who is Randy Newman? I only vaguely remember Toy Story at all (and none of the songs) so I don't know what you're referencing.

Hahaha, my boss told me his deepest, darkest music secret recently & it was that he genuinely likes Randy Newman. Actually listens to records. I laughed at him, after I asked who Randy Newman was.

When I was a kid, I thought he sang like a drunk.

Oh god, I laughed so hard I scared my cat.

In my case, I grew up listening to him (Land of Dreams is actually a pretty solid album), and my huge revelation was that he was white. I honestly thought he was black, for the longest time. My dad was in stitches when he saw how confused I was when I actually laid eyes on the guy.

I can see why you'd think that though. Not to say that "black people sound one way and white people sound another" but it does seem like there are certain vocal flairs are found more often in one race or another.
