What character do you like (or want to like) despite the actor's behind-the-scenes reputation? What character has been soured because of the actor?

ohhh....yes.

UGH, YES.

I want to see the new movie since I love everyone else in the cast, but I feel like going and paying my $12 would be an huge insult to Amber Heard.

I'll probably just end up finding a free bootleg. :/

I mean...Johnny Depp is only one person working on a productions with dozens (if not hundreds of other people). Depp has already been paid for his work. Your dollars are not contributing to him directly.

Yep.

I will always love Jack Sparrow.

It's really hard for me to like characters if I strongly dislike the actor playing them. Honestly can't think of any examples. It super bums me out.

I like the character of Jack Donaghy from 30 Rock despite Alec Baldwin's... Alec Baldwinness.

Then again, Jack Donaghy has seriously asshole moments too. So he's not a character who I like as a person much. (Although he got worse in later seasons. He was fine until they made him every Republican Tina Fey ever hated.)

Any character voiced by Vic Mignogna. He plays lots of characters I like in anime that I prefer to watch dubbed, and I think most of his portrayals are pretty spot-on. If only I can just forget that it's him.

I'd tolerate him better if only he wasn't so preachy about his religious background. Didn't he get kicked out of some conventions a while back?

Hahaha the only good roles of his Are Edward from FMA and Ikkaku from Bleach imo (and maybe Spirit in Soul Eater), otherwise he ruins perfectly good characters like Rin from Free and Yamato in Digimon Tri (characters who are supposed to have deeper voices) with his shrill whine.

For a while, I couldn't get into liking Emma Swann because I hated the actress's House character so much. Everytime I saw her face it annoyed me. This gradually died down a little while before I stopped enjoying the show.

Adam Baldwin. I love Jayne, but the actor is very much like his character in real life in terms of views. Makes for an awesome character, but not so much when it comes to a real person.

I know that Kate Mulgrew was not very nice to Jerry Ryan when Ryan joined the Voyager cast. But that doesn't stop me from loving Janeway.

Adam Baldwin is horrible but I'm always going to love Jayne. I like fictional jerks more then real ones as well.

This isn't because of any behind the scenes reasons, although he is somewhat weird with the Scientology and all, but I have never ever been able to like any character Tom Cruise has played. They're all the same and I just don't care.

I .... honestly don't even remember watching a TC movie. I'm certain it's happened, but they're not stand out.

Personally I'm hoping The Mummy kills him.

Same here. Most of his action movie roles aren't very distinct to me because they're all pretty alike? Only the plot, co-star and set dressings change.

I like several of Tim Allen's characters, despite disliking him on a personal level. Same with Alec Baldwin.

In reality, I don't think Katherine Heigl having an unfavorable opinion of the writing she was given to perform on Grey's is a grave sin, but her manner of announcing it to the world and the backlash has made me instinctively feel like she's difficult to work with, even though I KNOW there are more difficult actors with whom to work than she.

I rather like Roger Moore as James Bond, but was super disappointed when he came out and said he didn't think Idris Elba could be James Bond because he wasn't "English-English"... by which he most certainly meant that black people aren't truly English, even if they were born and raised in England. :(

I think Denzel Washington would make an excellent James Bond.

He's American though.

Idris Elba is an Englishman and perfect for the role.

I think the only two actors who I have been soured to was over something totally unrelated to them, and the fact that I ran afoul of a roleplayer playing one of their characters.
