Huh, if my rare ships were ever getting close to being canon, I would figure there would be less interest. If the fandom is mostly slash, they're not likely to be interested in het just on a personal level. And that ship will be canon so they're already getting it. I think some people will write/draw stuff for canon couples but I feel there's a larger appetite for fan-works when canon's left something to be wanted.

Hope it works out for you though.

I've had ships become canon and I don't think it really creates that much more fans if they weren't already interested in the dynamics before.

Most ships that become canon just get more hate and criticism. To be honest I just prefer something that has a moderately active fandom that never becomes canon just to not deal with the drama.

However if there was other parts of fandom that were really nasty I'd just be happy if my ship became canon out of spite.

I never want my ships to actually be canon. It ruins the fun for me. But I wish you luck in your dream of canon ships!

Haha, my first thought was Thor. I think it'd be kind of strange if they introduced a new LI for him in Ragnarok, though, or if they were it'd make more sense for it to be Sif.

Lol me too. If incest ships are mentioned then - if it's not Supernatural - Thor is always my next thought. Doesn't seem to fit here though.

idk, the next movie is going to have both Hela and Valkyrie, right? I could see someone thinking that Thor/Hela or Thor/Valkyrie will become canon, thus validating their ship.

Where's the incest ship in Thor?

You haven't seen all the people that ship Loki and Thor?

I have, but they're not biologically related and both of them know it, so to me they don't count as incest. And it's kinda weird to me, that others might perceive it like that. Unless people ship them pre-knowlegde, of course.

Please do, at this point the vague-secret-hater anon is actually getting kind of entertaining. The image of them gnashing and frothing at the mouth because they don't have a fandom to latch on to is hilarious.

I'm not a fan of vague secrets either, but hey, they did warn us this was coming.

Hope that works out for you, but I'm not sure it will. It seems like the more they tease a het ship or put obstacles in its way, the more likely people are to write fic for it.

I don't think anyone will be shocked and surprised when a het ship is canonized instead of a slash ship, and especially an incest ship. It's kind of what happens in every canon 99% of the time.

Please, tell us the fandom! Incest is one of my kinks, and a new fandom where incest is one of the major ships would be a dream come true!

Having seen the shitshow that went down when Bruce/Natasha became canon, if you value your fandom experience you really don't want it to become canon. When the c word comes up it opens up a whole new can of worms and people feel they need an opinion on it instead of just ignoring it.
