I didn't know it was Nelsan Ellis until his official twitter account started following me. (I'm a nobody. Just was interacting with the writer's account one time.)

I totally agree about bringing back Alfredo. I really liked his character.

The actor who plays Alfredo is on Chicago Med now. Although he's not a main character, so he could theoretically do both, but I know sometimes contracts don't let actors do other roles, especially on different networks, so...who knows.

SA

Not technically now, since the show's on hiatus, but he was on this past season and will presumably be on the next. And now that I think about it, a lot of things were changing in the finale so maybe he'll have a bigger role next season.

IMO, that storyline was kind of all over the place. It felt like it wasn't really planned well from the beginning and they just sort pulled the ending out of thin air. Usually Elementary is better at character development than that, but this really fell flat.

I disagree that the only way to get more good POC characters is to bring back alfredo

Where in the secret does it say this is the only way, though?

I liked his storyline at first, but I hated how it ended up. I was expecting more. I hated the "twist" about his past. I had thought he was supposed to be redeeming himself for his daughter, not that other BS.

And I do love Alfredo, but I think even without him, Elementary does a decent job of having minorities in recurring roles? There aren't all that many recurring roles to begin with, and two of the main four cast are Poc (Joan and Bell) with their families/significant others.

Evil ganglord genius, using broken WWII-era encryption to communicate orders from his consulting firm. (And not even NSA-broken, we're talking a system that was broken in WWII and can be brute-forced by Joan's cell phone.)

In short, this season was a bit of a disappointment all around, with many of the major issues left on a cliffhanger.

Alfredo was cool.
