I'm reading Fatal Vision by Joe McGinniss, which I have been reading off and on for months now. It's pretty fascinating if you like true crime, which I do. Hopefully I can get it finished this time.

It's a chilling story, isn't it! I was familiar with the case before reading the book and already thought the husband was guilty, but the book gives you some fascinating insight into his mindset. It also lays out an interesting case for rampant narcissism + "diet pills" = murder.

Oh dear. I just now googled Jeffrey McDonald because I wanted to know what he looked like, and made the mistake of scrolling down too far. There were the crime scene photos of his children. Cannot unsee, but oh boy I wish I could :/

I've never seen the crime scene photos, but it was a horrific crime so I can imagine. The blood analysis makes it even more disturbing once you find out the chronology of events, IMO.

I keep waiting for the movie that ID's making about it because I love Scott Foley and I like Dave Annable.

What about this particular crime prompted you to seek out the book?

I actually had never heard of this case/crime before picking up the book. I went down a true crime rabbit hole a while back and I think I followed a recommendation link on goodreads or a rec from somewhere.

Wow, I just imdb'ed the movie and I'm interested in seeing it now too. Weird that they renamed it Final Vision instead of Fatal though.
