I went through a phase where I used to read celeb gossip (until I realised it was leading to some pretty dark internalised misogyny and weaned myself off it) and to be honest you're right. It's also kind of comforting to know other people are screwing up as bad as or worse than you are.

Me too. I really miss fandom_wank for this reason. They wank was well-organized, and I could go back and read the epic wank from years ago. It's hard to piece drama together from various tumblr reblogs.

Journalfen as a whole was deleted a couple years ago, and they said it was just temporary and they were fixing codes or something, but the last update they posted on their "temporary" forum was in July of '15, so things aren't looking good on that front. They made journalfen.com as a DW installation and made a F_W on there, but the comm has all of two posts and both were made in 2015, so...yeah. I think it's safe to say that Fandom_Wank has gone the way of the dinosaur and taken all of its content with it.

I've gotten into LARPing, which means moving my fannishness mostly over to Facebook and These. People. These people are no good at describing kerfuffles. No links, no screen shots, no details, it's the worst! It wouldn't be that bad if this meant little to no drama but it doesn't! It just means that all the drama is barely understood by new comers, acting like little trip hazards strewn across the field of play.

How I long for a FandomWank style write up of why Larps require costuming or the various mechanical scisms. LarpCynic is the best I've got and he updates like 6 times a year.
