Tons of people publicly excecuting effigies of Barack Obama, many doing so in a way that clearly evoked imagery of LYNCHING. I don't give a shit whether or not you like a Black government official but when you're doing stuff like that it is most certainly a hate crime.

Where were the Republicans denouncing this practice?

The fact that this is your take away means that the republicans were exactly where you are right now - Trying to deflect the issue and make it not such a big deal because it was being done to their enemy.
