Her whole "But I'm the victim here" bullshit was sickening to me. You know how many comics have had to apologise? Fucking loads of them. I don't agree with that, I want comics to not have to deal with shit for their jokes, I want comics to push buttons then stand firm - Insert the Stephen Fry quote here - but the fact remains there are oodles of comedians who have had to apologise. Not any - Or at least none I'm aware of - of them have ever felt the need or had the opportunity to claim victimisation because people were offended by their jokes. That is bad comedianing. That is ... Well, it's like the first thing young comedians have to learn. Thick Skin. People will come at you, you take it on the chin. You don't cry about how hard the public is to you.

Nope. As other people have mentioned, his nanny/whoever's in charge of watching him should've done a better job. (And that's giving the benefit of the doubt that he ever even saw the image at all. I think it's incredibly likely it's all bullshit, the kid knows nothing at all about the image, and his being so traumatized was entirely made up for sympathy points.) It's like the people who want any violent movies or video games banned because "what about the children?!" The world does not need to cater to "the children", it's their parent/guardian/whoever's job to make sure they don't see things that aren't appropriate for them to see.

Okay, having read all the comments. I want to point out that there aren't a lot of celebrities on the right. The right doesn't have a shit ton of actors or comedians and such to use said celebrity to push their causes. I can think of a couple. Adam Baldwin. Mel Gibson, a few country music stars. Guess what? Most keep pretty damn quiet because they work for the entertainment business which is run by the predominantly left and they like to keep and get jobs.

The type of celebrities that the right have are talk show hosts. And those talk show hosts usually are pretty adamant about not bringing kids into a political dog fight. In fact, most of them make it a point, repeatedly, that they don't want their political opponents to die. They think their opponents are in general good people. They just think their policies are stupid (stridently right) and they want them to fail (less stridently right.) Most of them are also pretty apologetic and hate going "Gee, I want this person to fail." Because that's against their life philosophy!

Rando republican who are people on the street, do not have the platform of Kathy Griffin. They don't have her reach. Sure, they get 30 seconds of fame. Look, I had no idea that there were rando republicans burning strawmen in effigy or 'lynching' them. And both Obama campaigns, I paid attention to. Kathy Griffin made it to the front of Yahoo News. I saw it there after logging off my email.

As a shock value move to get attention and to try to be relevant. It worked. As a matter of common decency. It failed and it failed HARD. As a matter of being edgy and funny. Not my type of humor. I'll pass.

Republican celebrities might call Obama a pinhead. They aren't going to have him "beheaded" bloody and hold it up.
