All of this. I never even got far into the manga/Brotherhood because the wank was so awful. I don't remember if I actually submitted the secret, but years ago I made one about how pissed I was about people turning on the 2003 anime and pretending they never liked it when I know they did. I was right there with them when we gushed over it weekly after the newest episode.

I think I remember something like that (if not yours, then maybe somebody else...), and I totally sympathize.
I was reading the manga way before Brotherhood came out, so there wasn't the same type of debate for me, but I got really annoyed at the fandom and the wank. It was crazy how everybody turned on the 2003 anime.

And btw, that anime still has some stellar animation, and while the plot for Shamballa was stupid, it's a fucking gorgeous movie.
