Since it's come to my attention that certain communities have been purposely posting troll secrets for the lulz, I'm going to start getting harsher on what counts as a non-troll secret, especially regarding the fandom involved.

ETA2: No, this isn't only SPN fandom. This goes for everyone else, too.

Actually, I just got here a little while ago, so I'm kind of just kicking back and making myself at home right now.

*You posted a link to capslock_spn as evidence of this before you edited the post, but what other communities, specifically, did you suspect of such behavior? (You must understand that singling out one community like that was inviting wank.)

*What solid proof do you have that capslock_spn was doing this? Besides, that is, a f!s tag used for commenting on SPN secrets.

*What is a "troll secret"? By my understanding, a "troll" is a person whose intention is to cause dispute, but by your own admission these secrets were meant to cause "lulz"--that is, you believe that these secrets were made with the intention to cause laughs instead of arguments. Doesn't that mean that the secrets (because they were non-malicious) couldn't be from a "troll"? Or is "troll," here, a term you are using to mean "a person who is posting an insincere secret"? In which case, how do you determine if a secret is sincere or not?

*Even if it turns out that a bunch of people are making up secrets in order to get laughs, why is that a problem? Why make a lot more work for yourself and start a wank trying to suppress them?

Your last question is what I have been wondering through this entire wank. I would understand if there were a ton of fakesecrets submitted every post, but the ones that I could tell for sure were from capslockers were pretty sporadic.

But Technophile seems committed to weeding them out now, so good look with that.
