121 - You're kidding, right? At least Harris didn't come off as somewhat bipolar. Gambon angrily yelling at Harry in GoF completely ruined it for me. Harris came off as kind, gentle, quirky--exactly how I remembered him to be in the books. And yes, I did think that Harris had the ability to portray a powerful Dumbledore, if the first two movies had ever really called for it.

Not to mention, OotP--Dumbledore was supposed to never come off looking like he lost to bitchtoad Umbridge--and the fact that they made it look as though she'd gotten the best of him in the movie when she never had in the books just really didn't sit well with me.

121) I completely agree. Gambon has too much anger and not enough empathy to be Dumbledore. I always thought that his portrayal of Dumbledore was cold and out of character. Richard Harris understood Dumbledore so much better, I think, and it is so sad that he was only with us for two of the movies.
