Are there any pairings you are glad didn't end up as endgame?

Switched at Birth spoilers

I was just thinking how grateful I am the Bay ended up with Travis, despite Bay/Emmett being the biggest ship in the series.

Katniss/Gale. I liked Gale less and less as the series went on.

such a pointless love triangle.

HanLeia, sort of.

If you don't know, they're basically split up in the story Bloodline, which is canon and takes place a few years before TFA. They still clearly love and respect each other, but they've got different things going on that they love more, so they're amicably parted.

I won't spoil it because it's a pretty good story.

I did like that part of Bloodline because it sounds more like they are still married to each other, but sort of doing what they both really love. At least that was my take on it.

I just didn't like the timeline of putting Ben still at the light side at 23 but by 30 he's Kylo Ren? I always picture him turning much sooner.

I guess I read their relationship completely differently. They are living in different places, but they communicate with each other often and Han drops everything to be with Leia when shit goes down.

It's a different marriage than I'm used to seeing in fiction and I liked that.

not a specific pairing, but I like to thank jesus whenever I'm playing a (jrpg) video game with a cliche male hero x princess dynamic that blessedly ends in ambiguous friendship.

An old one, but Jo and Laurie from Little Women.

I really disliked Professor Bhaer, but all the same, I was glad she didn't end up with Laurie.

Jack and Liz from 30 rock, much preferred their friendship.

I also like generally when male main character and female main character do not get together or don't end up being endgame. it's just so boring and predictable when it happens and I hate especially when I preferred the characters as friends.

They are awesome friends but would have been a horrible couple.

The leads in Edge of Tomorrow. Unless a sequel changes that.

Steve Rogers and Natasha.

Neither of those were billed as pairings but in lesser hands they would have totally been paired up.

Huh, I thought it was heavily implied they got together. Though my view may also be colored by my familiarity with the light novel and manga...

The leads in Edge of Tomorrow.

The way I see it, headcanoning that they got together after the end of the movie makes just as much sense and is no more or less supported by canon than headcanoning that they didn't get together. It's entirely the viewer's choice how they want to imagine it going.

Janeway/Chakotay. I feel like just about the only person in the fandom who doesn't ship them. But I really, really don't.

Buffy/Xander. I'm glad they never went that way on the show. I ignore the comics. Validating his creepy, presumptuous crush would have pissed me off.

Did you ever watch Gravity Falls? If you didn't like Buffy/Xander, it would be very fun to see what you make of Dipper's futile crush on Wendy.

I sort of agree about Voyager

But at the same time, Chakotay/Seven was terrible and I wouldn't have been thrilled with Janeway/Chakotay, but it would have been better than that.

Really really agreed about Buffy/Xander. Especially after The Lie he told her in Becoming. Still think Joss should have let Xander come clean in rather than let it go untold.

I may have made a secret about it before? But Judy/Nick from Zootopia. I feel like making it romantic would have taken away from the message of acceptance and how stereotypes and bigotry shape our lives and made it just another Bad Boys Just Need A Good Woman To Love And Fix Them.

Amy/Eleven. Given the way they met, it bordered on pedo to me.

seconded.

Plus, Rory.
